Here’s the order we stayed: Friday evening check-in at Hilton → Saturday afternoon moved to Commodore → Sunday morning tried breakfast at Hwabak Convention (made possible through a friend’s invitation). Moving luggage daily was a hassle, but I wanted a proper comparison.
1. Hilton Gyeongju — Best Kids’ Pool, Highest Price
“Our child played in the kids’ pool for over 2 hours. I almost asked to extend checkout time.”

We arrived around 7 PM Friday. Check-in was quick, and the baby crib I’d requested by phone was already set up in the room. We booked a Deluxe Family Room (485 sq ft) with one king bed, a sofa bed, and a surprisingly spacious bathtub.
We hit the pool early in the morning and the kids’ pool is truly excellent. Water depth about 20 inches with two slides and water spray toys. Safe enough for a 36-month-old to wade in alone. (Life vests available for free rental at the front desk.)
✅ Pro Tip — Pool is least crowded 9-10 AM. After 11 AM, group guests arrive and the kids’ pool gets packed. The convenience store on the 1st floor sells swimsuits but they’re overpriced — bring your own.

- Bit of a walk from parking lot to lobby. If you have a stroller and lots of luggage, valet parking recommended (paid, $15)
- In-room fridge is small — tight fit for toddler snacks and milk
- Checkout is noon but kids’ pool only operates until 10 AM, which felt rushed

2. Commodore Hotel Gyeongju — Hot Spring + Pool Combo
We checked in around 2 PM Saturday. Smaller scale than Hilton, but the hot spring facility is the differentiator. We booked a Korean-style heated-floor family room, and the warm floor was great for our toddler to crawl around on.
The pool is toors but there’s no separate kids’ pool section — just a shallow area (24 inches) in one corner of the main pool. Our 36-month-old played with a floatie. The hot spring is public bath style so we went in together, but water temp was 100-104°F so we only soaked about 10 minutes.
⚠️ Heads Up — The hot spring changing room has a baby changing table but the diaper trash bin is small. Bring extra plastic bags for convenience.

3. Gyeongju Hwabak Convention Center Hotel — Best Value
Sunday morning a friend invited us for breakfast only. (Didn’t actually stay in a room.) The breakfast buffet had fewer items than Hilton, but enough for kids. Fried eggs, sausage, cereal, milk, fruit were all available.
Glimpsed the rooms from the hallway — feels like a business hotel. Clean but no special kids’ facilities. No pool either, but rates are $40-$75 cheaper per night than other Bomun Complex hotels.

Our 2N3D Itinerary + Toddler-Friendly Tips
Day 1 (Friday)

For us, Hilton won because our 36-month-old is at the peak water-play age. The kids’ pool alone made the higher price worth it. But if we were traveling with a younger baby (under 18 months) or planning a tight budget trip, I’d pick differently.
The beauty of Bomun Complex is that all three hotels are within 5-10 minutes of each other, so you really can’t go wrong location-wise. It’s all about matching amenities to your family’s needs.
